Full-Time & Seasonal Employment

Some new staff with prior experience begin instructing immediately after the New Staff Training. After this training your trainers will assess your wilderness and facilitation skills to begin instructing right away or participate in the Instructor Practicum.

    Instructor Practicum

Many of our instructors completed the Instructor Practicum. This practicum is designed for entry level or less experienced new staff who complete the New Staff Training. The Instructor Practicum is 9-12 weeks in length, and is designed to help solidify your wilderness and facilitation skills.

Instructors are provided "hands on" learning opportunities throughout the practicum that include instructing up to two wilderness courses and spending time at base camps learning how courses operate behind the scenes.

Instructors are provided a $175 weekly stipend each week of the practicum, room and board, and reimbursed travel expenses between base camps. Full time employment may be offered anytime throughout the practicum.

College credit may be given as part of a field experience or internship requirement, a tuition fee may apply.
