HEALTH INSURANCE

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, employees are eligible the first day of the month, following a 60 day waiting period. Outward Bound pays 80% of the premium expense for individual coverage. Employees may cover a spouse, domestic partner, and dependent children.

DENTAL

100% preventative, 80% basic & most major, $1500 calendar year, Orthodontic 50%

VISION

A yearly eye exam is included in the medical plan with no reimbursement or payment for glasses or contact lenses.

PAID TIME OFF (PTO)

25-30 days with 1 day per year increases up to 35 days. Staff can use at their discretion for vacation, sick and holiday. Accrued but unpaid PTO will be paid in cash upon termination.

RETIREMENT (403B)

Full time employees can participate in a 403(b) retirement plan with the TIAA-Cref. The employee can choose from various yield and socially responsible investing options. OB has a 5% employer match that begins after 6 months of employment - 7% match after 10 years of service.

LIFE & ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT

CIGNA, employees are eligible the first day of the month, following a 60 day waiting period. 2 times the annual salary up to $200,000 at no cost to the employee.

OUTWARD BOUND COURSE TUITION

Free Outward Bound courses up to 14 days in length for employees after one year of service. May sponsor a family member at discounted rate of 50% off published price.

We provide opportunities for full and part time staff to purchase gear and clothing from companies such as L.L. Bean, Perception, and Patagonia at wholesale prices.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT

We reimburse tuition for employees to obtain, maintain, or improve job-related capabilities through participation in courses of study at accredited colleges and universities and organizations specializing in job and career-related education and training up to $1000 per calendar year.

EXPEDITION FUND

Discovery's expedition fund helps to support staff for additional trainings, expeditions and educational opportunities geared toward professional development.
